It is always a pleasure to receive feedback from our conference participants, and this time it came in the form of a report by Sangeon Kim, a PhD student at Princeton Seminary in the World Christianity program. He published his reflections on the conference in the latest newsletter of the Overseas Ministry Study Center (OMSC) and on Substack. He found the Thessaloniki conference deeply inspiring, noting how the city’s history of Aristotle and Paul provided a fitting backdrop for dialogue. He valued the global diversity of participants, which brought a wide range of perspectives and fostered collegial, interdisciplinary conversation. Lectures such as Leo Lefebure’s “Sophia’s Banquet” impressed him, highlighting Christian identity through communal participation rather than strict doctrinal adherence. He concluded by reflecting on Dr. Dale Irvin’s remark that research aimed at revitalizing the church is a “gold medal” pursuit, an insight that left a lasting impression.
