Ecclesiological Investigations International Research Network (EIIRN) is pleased to announce that as of October 2022 we have completed the process of incorporating in Washington, DC as a nonprofit organization, operating exclusively for charitable, educational and religious purposes.  We are now waiting for the Internal Revenue Service of the US Federal government to grant us tax-exempt status, which will be retroactive to the date of incorporation. This means that EIIRN will now be a tax-exempt organization and can both raise and dispense funds on its own.  Being tax-exempt is almost always a prerequisite for foundation grants in the USA and individuals will now be able to receive a tax deduction for donations in support of EIIRN’s programs.  A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation, which includes the full statement of institutional purposes, can be found here.

The New Structure

Under our new institutional structure, EIIRN is led by a Board composed of 3 legal Directors, one of whom is the Chair of the Board.  Additional officers include a Vice Chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and 6 program area Coordinators.  All members are nominated by the Chair and elected by the 3 Directors for one-year terms.  A link to the new Board structure with the names and positions of its members can be found here.

EIIRN remains an open network in its new iteration.  There are no formal membership requirements or annual membership fees.  Calls for proposals for conferences and program units are public and open to anyone who wishes to participate.  Interested persons are invited to sign up through the EIIRN webpage to be put on the mailing list to receive occasional messages and our newsletter.  EIIRN also remains firmly committed to working collaboratively with other organizations, academic institutions, and ecclesial bodies.  We look forward to re-energizing our existing partnerships and reaching out to build new ones as we share the fruit of our scholarship on the church for the churches.
