Gerard Mannion (1970-2019)
It is with enormous sadness and utter shock that we have to make the announcement that our beloved friend Gerard Mannion died suddenly on Saturday 21 September. Today would have been his 49th birthday. He was Founder and Chair of Ecclesiological Investigations and was the driving force behind its many conferences and publications over the past fifteen years. It was an honour and privilege to have worked so closely with him and to have enjoyed his wonderful friendship. He was always a joy to be with and we will miss him hugely as will so many others whose lives he touched. He was a great lover of the Church, a passionate ecumenist, and a loyal companion on the way. We will make further announcements in due course, but for the moment all we can do is to pray for him and his family, colleagues and friends.
